Nicole Hendricks, Principal
Dear Families,
I am honored and excited to serve as the Principal of César Chávez Middle School. I have a deep passion for middle school which led me to this great school and community. I have been an educator serving grades K-8 for 18 years and this year will be my thirteenth year as a school administrator. I’ve had the pleasure of serving both Elementary and Middle Schools, urban and suburban schools, magnet schools and a school with a biliteracy focus.
I was born and raised in North County and have lived in Oceanside, Carlsbad, and Vista. Both of my parents were children of United States Marines whose last duty station was MCB Camp Pendleton. My mother attended Libby Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, and graduated from El Camino High School and my father is a long time Oceanside business owner. My husband and I have been married for 12 years and have two wonderful sons: ages 8 and 4. We are extremely close to my family and my in-law family who live in Tijuana, Mexico. As a parent, I deeply value a collaborative partnership with families.
My vision is for César Chávez Middle School to be known for high student outcomes and a thriving culture of support for each and every student. In my leadership, I strive to make decisions aligned with the following values:
- A commitment to cultivating an environment that is physically and emotionally safe
- An unwavering belief that every student can learn and it is our responsibility as a school that they do so
- Parents and Families are their children's first teachers and should be empowered to be strong advocates. To accomplish this we as a school must initiate regular, positive communication.
I am very anxious to get to know you and your children and I am passionate about partnering with families and school communities. The work of preparing young people to be successful in our ever-changing world is rewarding, challenging, and cannot be done without your support.
With respect and enthusiasm,
Nicole Hendricks, Principal
